Ingredients
- ½ a gallon of regular Milk
- ½ a cup of Basmati rice
- saffron
- ½ a cup of sugar
Directions
Firni or Pakistani Style Rice Pudding
- Soak ½ a cup of Basmati rice in 1 cup of milk for 30 minutes
- When rice are soft and soaked by touch and feel.
- Then put the rice and milk mixture in the blender and purée it.
- Take out of blender and put it in a bowl.
- Boil ½ a gallon of milk.
- After boiling shut off the heat.
- Pour the blended rice in the boiled milk.
- Put saffron.
- Put ½ a cup of sugar.
- Stir mixture until thick and spoon does not turn anymore.
- Let it cool off.
- Put it in refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
