Firni or Pakistani Style Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  1. ½ a gallon of regular Milk
  2. ½ a cup of Basmati rice
  3. saffron
  4. ½ a cup of sugar

Directions

Firni or Pakistani Style Rice Pudding

  1. Soak ½ a cup of Basmati rice in 1 cup of milk for 30 minutes
  2. When rice are soft and soaked by touch and feel.
  3. Then put the rice and milk mixture in the blender and purée it.
  4. Take out of blender and put it in a bowl.
  5. Boil ½ a gallon of milk.
  6. After boiling shut off the heat.
  7. Pour the blended rice in the boiled milk.
  8. Put saffron.
  9. Put ½ a cup of sugar.
  10. Stir mixture until thick and spoon does not turn anymore.
  11. Let it cool off.
  12. Put it in refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
