When is public Policy most effective?
Answer: When it listens to its citizens.
It seems we have lost control of our elected officials. They decree doctrines from laws above coming out of the derriere, if we are lucky.
Case in point, the OMNY card program. Nobody wanted it. It is unpopular and does not provide for fast service. If anything in the poorer communities it is a disservice to the voters and neighborhood.
Further, we spend more and more money on a broken MTA system. While Albany profits from Ride sharing app taxes. This is shameful.
It seems there is a two-tier social system in NYS. The haves and the want to haves.
We the citizens of this once great Metropolis are the haves. We have everything Albany wants. That is money.
When they say that Albany will spend. They really mean that we will tax and spend. Those are Want to haves. They want to have this and that of yours for free.
We should ALL BAN… Albany from our money!
Further, We waste a lot of money in New York State for special interest groups and parties. That’s why I think Democrats will be voted out this November.
And they know it.
Their policies are as unpopular as their high school yearbooks.
New York State’s budget needs to go on a healthy diet. With real tax cuts and investments in programs that do work. Not special interests who pocket the cash or buy votes.
The next problem is election reform. Rank choice voting sucks. No if, ands or buts about it.
Nobody wanted ranked choice voting shoved down our political throats. Here we are a handful of lawmakers. Making unjust laws.
One candidate. One vote. Is what I say.
I do not think ranking choices is a democratic way. It is just a convoluted way to game the system. many people have had their votes diluted thanks to ranked choice.
The blatant level of corruption is unpronounced in American politics.
These politicians must be primaried, if only to show that society will not listen to a bunch of cry babies who want to keep there seat. A bunch of seat warmers as a colleague once stated about politics.
This unjust policy must be banned nationwide.
There is something strange that New York State does. That is for all its leaderships grand standing they keep the poor…poor.
The poor can not buy stocks and bonds or T-bills. They can not own property. Sometimes not even a car to get around. They have to play by rules that are designed to keep them down. Those rules. Our fair Albany claims is hogwash. Show me how someone’s life is better on public assistance and programs designed to chew them up and spit them out worse then before.
Poor people can not save in New York State if they wanted too. That is because the policy is to limit how much money is in the bank. Yes that is Federal issue too. But New York can help. currently the State Supplemental Program for New York State pays each recipient $87/monthly for benefits.
Do you think that is a fair amount to survive on in NYS?
Politicians want your vote, money, time and taxes. But they don’t want you. Too them you are an email address to be unbeknownst to you a email recipient whether you like it or not. Or a cellphone number that they text and call from spam numbers.
You know how I know. They have been doing it to me for years.
I will like to see fiscal reforms and willing to discuss the matter on your show.
We can facetime or zoom?*

I have a to do list to cleanup our Great city. The Big Apple of my eye. Anecdotally, I had a chance to travel the nation after college some 20+ years ago. I decided to stay.
Why you ask?
Because everyone comes from the world to New York City. This is home. All these constructive criticisms are in jolly good spirits.
Well done.
Later.
